How to play Tic-Tac-Date

Five options sit on a 3x3. A three-in-a-row locks tonight. Shared option bank. Categories this game uses: place, mood, when. Do not fork a list.

Don't plan the date. Play for it. You don't have to agree on a plan. Just agree to play.

Start

  1. Pick a mode: Zero Thought (schema defaults, skip edit), Make It Ours (defaults loaded, replace any slot), or Blank Slate (empty lists — does not silently refill defaults).
  2. Each category is authored with five options: place, mood, when. You need exactly five live options in every category this game uses or you do not start.

The ritual

  1. Draw a 3x3. Put the five options on north, west, center, east, south. Corners are blocks.
  2. You play X. Partner plays O.
  3. First three-in-a-row locks tonight. The option cell that completed the line is place, mood, and when.
  4. If a line has no option cell, ignore it and play on.

Digital is the same plus-five board. Print is paper. Same completing cell, same winners. Say 1–5 if you skip the marks. That is the real a11y path. Deterministic. No random.

Locked oracle

completingCell 2 → Place Kitchen floor / Mood A little extra / When After dinner.
