How to play Tear-Off
Concert-flyer tabs. 4 rows × 5 tabs. Tear one tab per row. Tab i = option i. Not a fold and not a bracket.
Don't plan the date. Play for it. You don't have to agree on a plan. Just agree to play.
Start
- Pick a mode: Zero Thought (schema defaults, skip edit), Make It Ours (defaults loaded, replace any slot), or Blank Slate (empty lists — does not silently refill defaults).
- Each category is authored with five options: food, activity, game, entertainment. You need exactly five live options in every category or you do not start.
The ritual
- Sheet is a taped-up flyer. Four rows: Food, Activity, Game, Entertainment. Five tabs each.
- You tear Food. Partner tears Activity. You tear Game. Partner tears Entertainment.
- Miss or two tabs on a row is tear-again that row. Do not write 2.
- The four torn tabs are tonight.
Digital is a swipe-tear-tab on each row. Print is a real perforation (or a drawn tear line). Same tab numbers, same winners. Say 1-5 four times if you skip the swipe. That is the real a11y path. No Math.random().
Locked oracle
Tabs 4, 2, 5, 1 → Food Baked-apple night / Activity Thrift-color hunt / Game Hallway bowling-socks / Entertainment Opening-credits only.
