Passing Notes
How to play Spiral Survivor
- Lock exactly five options in each category: food, activity, game, entertainment. Trim blanks. 1–40 characters. No duplicates in a category.
- Draw a spiral and count how many times the stroke crosses the spoke. That integer is N. N must be 2–20. Need at least 2 rings — add a loop or type the count. If we are unsure, we will not guess.
- Start at the first option. Count N live options (the start position is count 1). Cross out that option. Continue from the next live option. Repeat until one live option remains.
- Run independently per category with the same N.
- Direction is list-forward, down the page. Never shuffled.
Completed example (N=3)
Food: Diner breakfast-for-dinner, Sheet-pan pizza night, Noodle takeout feast, Farmers-market graze, Grilled-cheese cook-off.
- 1 diner, 2 pizza, 3 noodle → Noodle takeout feast out
- 1 farmers, 2 grilled, 3 diner → Diner breakfast-for-dinner out
- 1 pizza, 2 farmers, 3 grilled → Grilled-cheese cook-off out
- 1 pizza, 2 farmers, 3 pizza → Sheet-pan pizza night out
- Food survivor: Farmers-market graze
On the Studio defaults, N=3 always keeps the fourth option:
- Farmers-market graze
- Bookstore wander + one chapter
- Two truths, one snack
- Neighborhood open mic
