How to play Scratchers

Scratch the boxes. What you reveal is tonight. Shared option bank. Categories this game uses: food, place, mood, when. Do not fork a list.

Don't plan the date. Play for it. You don't have to agree on a plan. Just agree to play.

Start

  1. Pick a mode: Zero Thought (schema defaults, skip edit), Make It Ours (defaults loaded, replace any slot), or Blank Slate (empty lists — does not silently refill defaults).
  2. Each category is authored with five options: food, place, mood, when. You need exactly five live options in every category this game uses or you do not start.

The ritual

  1. Four tickets, five boxes each. Boxes hide the option until you rub.
  2. Digital: click-and-hold (and drag) to rub foil away. Not a tap-to-reveal.
  3. Print: no latex. Cover each box with a thick crayon or pencil scribble (or tape). Partner coin-scratches. Not tap-the-box.
  4. You rub Food and Mood. Partner rubs Place and When. One box per ticket.
  5. Two boxes on one ticket voids it. Do not write 2.
  6. Box n is option n on that ticket.

Digital: hold and drag to rub the foil off. A tap does not reveal. Print: cover each box with crayon or tape, then coin-scratch. Same box numbers, same winners. Say 1-5 if you skip the rub. That is the real a11y path. Deterministic. No random.
